Gas Installer Training
All installers accepted for the "Provisional" category of the RGII must
complete a Gas Installer Domestic (GID) training course before to the 18th
December 2009.
Gas Training Development Group (GTDG)
A gas industry group known as the Gas Training Development Group
(GTDG), with representatives from the many gas training interests and
providers, has promoted the development installer related training for many
years.

Gas Installer Training Courses
If you are interested in gas safety training, the main safety
related training courses that all domestic installers and service agents are
recommended to have completed are outlined below.

Gas Installer 1 Safety (GI1)
On completion of this course the craftsperson will have acquired
the knowledge and skills to enable them to work safely on domestic and
non-domestic gas installations under supervision having passed the course
test. (Gas Installer 1 training is also provided by a number of Institutes of
Technology as part of a plumbing apprentice course.)
Gas Installer Domestic (GID)
On completion of this course the craftsperson will have acquired
the knowledge and skills to enable them to install and admit gas safely to
domestic gas installations having passed the in-course assessments and end of
course tests.
