About Bord Gáis

Procurement Process

Certain activities carried out by Bord Gáis require compliance with the European Union Utilities Procurement Directive. Bord Gáis adopts different procurement approaches, depending on the monetary value of the contract.

Contracts Above Threshold Levels

For contracts above the monetary threshold specified by the Utilities Directive 93/38/EEC two approaches can be adopted:

  1. Official Journal of the European Community Advertising
Specific project based procurement, such as the construction of a new pipelines or the development of new information systems, are advertised individually through the Official Journal of the European Community (OJEC).

Prospective suppliers and contractors are advised to regularly review eTenders, to keep abreast of up-coming opportunities.
  2. Supply-Line Vendor Registration System
Bord Gáis uses the Supply-Line Vendor Registration System, operated by Achilles Procurement Services, as the basis for tenderer selection for all major procurement contracts exceeding the EU thresholds.

Supply-Line is a dedicated vendor registration system operated by Achilles Procurement Services on behalf of Bord Gáis Éireann and other commercial organisations.

Please consult the Annual Qualification System Notice to view those products and services for which registration with Supply Line is essential.

Contracts Below Threshold Levels

For all other contracts (excluding local purchases), Bord Gáis seeks competitive tenders/quotations from a minimum of three suppliers, unless otherwise stated by our procurement procedures.

A questionnaire will be issued to applicants upon consideration of correspondence
